"Seen at 11.30am"

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

Hey! I have decided to reblog again. Not sure how long will this last but I'l do my best to keep this updated for wandering readers - that is right. I haven't inform my friends that I am reblogging cause for all I know this could just be a phase as i enter the stressful world of Undergraduate studies.

So yeah my first blog is about Facebook!!! Yeah!!! I know right? First blogging now facebooking, you are probably wondering what the hell am I wasting my time on. But hey - I am "de-stressing", which should be a real English word.

Anyways, have you guys ever notice the "seen at (time)" memo when you send a message to a facebook friend via facebook chat? If you didn't then you either are very introvert in facebook or simply don't have facebook. So yeah, it is a useful memo (especially for stalkers) where you type a message at the chatbox. If the recipient have read it, a memo will popped up at your screen like "Seen at 11.30am". Which means your message was seen. The useful part is here. Now that you know it is seen, you do not have to wait hours for a reply cause you are sure that the recipient didn't just switch on their facebook and walk away somewhere. And even if their chatbox is on, you will notice the "seen" memo popped up too quickly when you click and enter rapid messages - this usually means their chatbox is on but the recipient had walked away from the screen but at any point you can be sure they at least WILL read it later when they come back.

The fun and awkward part is when your "seen" memo popped up at a relatively slow pace (like 10-15 seconds) but came no reply. This will most often means THEY ARE IGNORING YOU!!!

STORY TIME

Some do not like this new added application but honestly, I love it. I mean is not our fault if you choose to ignore us - actually it is your fault for ignoring us. Just a minute ago I was chatting with this girl regarding a club we were planning to form and it was on a forming stage so everyone's cooperation is required but this girl Elsy (not real name) has been very passive. I don't blame her thinking because she was not given a proper duty. So I spotted her online on my facebook chat, chat with her, gave her some duties but she never reply back and yes, the "seen" message popped a couple of time with a fair moment of pause in between (proving she did read it). Not to mention she was wishing people 'happy birthday' 16 minutes before and liking some actress  '5 minutes before'. I was obviously frustrated but didnt wanted it to show as in a way, i needed her. So instead I rebuffed by saying:

 'It seems you are a little busy now but it is okay. At least you have READ MY MESSAGE ALREADY. I guess I will stop disturbing you now. Thanks yeah'

She didn't read this message as no "seen" popped up or maybe i missed it. Either ways, she logged off like 1-2 minutes after this message and never reply back. The end.

Memory No. 1: The Simplest Things Make The Best Memories

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

If you all really know me you all would know what is my No.1 best memory. This memory is not an event or an occasion. is a memory i go through every day like memory no. 6. is the memory that makes all memories memorable and as said in the title, the simplest things make the best memories and too me, nothing was memorable than just hanging out with my FRIENDS.

i remember the times we all sat sat around a long table and chit chat.

i remember the times we form the ANN society or GOSSIP

i remember the times we first met

i remember the times we played mafia, taboo and empire

i remember the times we would hang out in malls

i remember the times we go out for a movie

i remember the times we experience real fire emergency in school

i remember the times we debate on any little matters

i remember the times ryan and sheng ling arguing on everything

i remember the times matthew talks about him being prime minister.

i remember the times puan tan pek ngoh pronounced adrienne's name as a-dri-en-ne

i remember the times wan jun and wei lian left malaysia

i remember the times eng khim talks on his computer games

i remember the times me and amanda bored to death during PA session

i remember the times Nigel would - well - let's just skip that.

i remember the times going to prom and MSB with friends

i remember the times i attend for prefect and kasturi march practice

i remember the times i run for the cross country race

i remember the times as junior and KIV prefects

i remember the times Imran was my senior

i remember he imes training Xin Ni and Nazmi and maybe Desmond.

i remember the times i got full A's for PMR

i remember the times my friends and i crossed the road and block the entire traffic

i remember the times we went to the zoo

i remember the times we make a smiley face for the school's magazine

i remember the times jumping like idiots on days before school over

i remember the times entering the library to not study

i remember the times organizing TARTE every now and then

i remember the times i organized the first treasure hunt for my friends in secret

i remember the times i made a video and my team won 5th place in NIE competition school level

i remember the times the boys drew Power Puff Pikachu Panda (or something like that)

i remember the times we celebrate each and every one's birthday

i remember the times sharing ghost stories we one another

i remember the times we sat for our last paper in SPM

i remember the times we had a feast for wan jun's departure in pyramid

i remember the times we organize a treasure hunt for the school

i remember the times the haircut saloon and haunted house won my class in the family day

i remember the times managing the public address system almost every monday

i remember the times participating in the prefect camps.

i remember the times we take shelter from the terrible storm in school

i remember the times going to malacca and not going to mexico

i remember the times photography unit's trip to cameron was a success

and even though (like matthew said) we might fail to grip our friendship as it slowly fade away, as we make new friends with new adventure, as we have forgotten what it is like to be together, i will definitely remember the times my friends and i spend the best times together.

For one day we might part,
And go our separate ways,
For one day we might forget,
Each other's face.

For every time we meet,
And greet each other, 'Hi',
For the more we prepare,
To wish each other 'Goodbye',

Arrivederci to my greatest friend,
Adios and hope this is not the end,
Aloha so we may meet again,
Au revoir while our memories remain.

Before i finish,
Allow me this to say this one more time:

FRIENDS FOREVER, ALWAYS TOGETHER!
IN THE HEART, EVEN WHEN WE ARE APART!

P.S: my last blog post before i go to National Service so do not expect any blog post for quite some time.

Memory No.2: Pictures in Cameron

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

I think my generation of the photography club committee is the first committee that brings up the photography unit to a new level. among the accomplishment we make that none of the past committee were able to achieve (and some of other clubs) to organised a club trip to Cameron Highlands. the committee involved in this project is:

Project Manager: Sheng Ling
Project Secretary: Alan
Project Treasurer: Adrienne
Project Creative Designer: Eng Khim
Project Student Control: Ryan
Form 5 Representative: Me
Form 4 Representative: Phaik Yan

(direct copy from the report i made for this trip to the school)

and of course, it wouldnt be finish we the help of all the teachers, other committees and friends who tagged along.

besides the management of the trip, the trip itself is the most memorable part of all. we stayed for 2 nights 3 days and it was not enough. just like malacca, is hard to pin point the memorable part, for not because i cant remember it, but because it was too many and every part of it is just as enjoyable.

among my favourite times in cameron with friends is:

1) going to the night market: i enjoyed walking around the market for few rounds and constantly split and met up with friends. i spent a lot of money on the market and if im not mistaken it was only the 1st night.

2) staying in room: i loved that part too. although i get a bit of uptight (i got warned by the teachers a few times if i dont lose the noise) every now and then. but still, it was very fun.

3) waterfall: it seem like a real boring at first going tot he waterfall as our first stop, but the breeze and the friends makes the place more beuatiful than ever.

there are so many more but it was bits of this and bits of that: like eating lunch with friends in some restaurant, going through the bee farm's maze and even the night walk at the nearby shops.

becos of this, empire became one of my group of friends favourite game

love this picture too

among th reasons i put this event as my memory no. 2 is because not only i am part of the organising team of this trip and doing it to promote the photography unit, the exprience in this trip is very much different than all the other before this. no words can explain the happiness this trip brought to me. i enjoyed every second of it. im all 'up to it' if my friends organised another friends outing to another state!

Memory No. 3: Malacca & Mexico

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

i have my reasons when i cant choose between this two special occasion. i got about 13 special events but i can only put 10. however on the 3rd placing, i cnt choose between these two. malacca trip with my 3 gamma classmates is very memorable to me cos not only is my first school/class outing, i also had a really great time hanging out with my friends in a not so familiar place. however, the impact of being chosen as malaysian representative to a international conference in mexico after completing the 100 cloud project is definitely bigger compared to malacca. unfortunately, i didnt make it to mexico which was very saddening to me (the only negative experience in my top 10).

il start with malacca. from my previous post, those who read it will know that during my form 3 year, my class won 2 awards during the family day and with the winning prize money, my class used it for a class trip to malacca. although i have been to malacca already but going with friends is way different. i cnt exactly pin point what we did in malacca (thats why its only 3rd and sharing place with the mexico trip) but all i remembered it was fun. not the historical feature of malacca but the journey with friends was fun. what i remembered in malacca having fun is:

1) in the bus
2) shopping
3) eating in the food court
4) taking pictures
5) lepaking

after writing these down, i dont know why i enjoyed it so much but i do in some ways.

a confusing picture of us staring into a mirror above us with another mirror below us.

us in a museum

3 GAMMA! United Forever!

the other memorable occasion is when my class was selected to complete a project called 100 CLOUDS PROJECT, a problem solving project involving 100 questions. the chosen ones will be send to mexico to attend a conference as ambassador of malaysia.my class was chosen cause it was claimed to be the best class (although we suspected that the school's afternoon supervisor chose our class in hope that her son, hasif, in our class will make it). i put in alot of heart and soul into my project in hope i get this chance. my parents doubt my ability to get it but i still do it for the sake of completing it. in the end, i got it!

i was absolutely thrilled but then realised i cant go cos my parents (shocked on me getting the chance) couldnt support the financial needs of the trip to mexico. it was actually offered free but due to too many chosen students, they society in charge couldnt afford paying us all. in the end me, farhanah and muzzafar couldnt go.

one more thing i remembered was that i was helping pn vigneswary giving points to the member of the ping pong club (i was secretary then) in the staff room when matthew tell me i am among the chosen students. pn vigneswary and cik cheong asked me what happen and i told them. they were quite furious (especially cik cheong) that they had no clue on the 100 clouds project as english teacher of the school and see no rights that only our class was chosen (i tried telling her that my class was chosen for being the best but i think it makes matter worst). i told this to my class, the 3 Gammas, and i tink hatred towards cik cheong grew even more from my class.

as much i hate having to overcome this experience, i know i will never forget it.

Memory No. 4: A Blowing Experience

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

People of SMKSU on the year 2006 will probably remember the terrible storm that struck our school. it was the only time of my entire schooling years (including preschool and primary) that the entire school is in a chaotic state and every teachers in the schools were panic while some of the students cried.

the hurricane made it to my no. 4 best memory because despite all this drama and tension created by the student body of SMKSU, that day was actually a really fun day. having my 2 GAMMA classroom at the highest floor facing no buildings, we could feel the starting of the strong wind. at first we treated it as merely a breeze but as i get stronger, rain poured and wet the internal of our classroom.

thats where the fun part begin. the classmates of 2 GAMMA including myself, closed all door and windows (used tables to closed up any broken windows). we then made our very own 'GREAT WALL OF CHINA' composed of tables instead of bricks. it was pretty effective when it comes to protect us and our stuffs from the strong wind and rain. i remembered nicholas went out of the classroom (that time the storm was so bad i couldnt even see the hallway clearly) and came back with the news that one of the classroom have their roof blown away. he also came back in a drench condition as if he just came out of a pool with his clothes on.

a few people went in and out which was quite a fuss cos everythime the door open, wind and rain rushed into the class. meanwhile, i remembered constantly checking on the broken window every now and then to check on the condition. but like i said, it was too blur to be clear. finally, pn vasantha knocked our door when she failed to open our class' door (we blocked it with tables and we didnt know it was a teacher so we didnt want to open the door at first till i found out is pn vasantha through the broken window). she was definately wet like nicholas and was in panic situation. i also noticed we were the only few people left on the top floor. she screeched us to go to the class at the ground floor quickly. right after that, everyone rushes down. we were splitted when we raced to different classroom for shelter. there i saw people crying especially after they met their friends.

after the storm settled down. we left and i met up with my friends. we did some exploring as if we were new to the school. i remembering hearing rumours that there was a piece of zinc plate soaring and nearly sliced off a teacher and some strudent's head. true or not, i dont know. what i know was that they were many roofs broken and even the grand hall's roof fall off. the most shocking to me was a solid (at least it looked solid) brick hut was totally torn apart.

the broken hut and us
me, yew han, alan, matthew, eng khim and sheng ling

definately an experience hard to forget but easy to share. i enjoyed thinking this back everytime sharing this story. it also proves that the 2 Gammarian of 2006 were united as we said we are.

Memory No. 3: i got problem choosing between this 2 special occasion so i decided to put both at 3rd place. 1 is a trip with pure 'red' spirit and the other is also a trip which i didnt make it.

Memory No. 5: The Perfect Prefect Camp

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

I missed prefect camp ALOT. i remembered joining as the participant for 2 years and although the task is hard and phisical, i missed it. although i dont really miss now cos im going to military camp in about 4 more days and i keep telling myself, is jus like prefect camp, only longer.
however, the prefect camp which is the most memorable is the prefect camp in 2009 where as a senior, i get to be part of the prefect camp committee. YAY! it was so much fun that i dont even no where to begin. even until now, when i asked myself, which i want to relive a memory of my past?, i would choose the prefect camp.
the gang i mix most during the prefect camp
eng khim, me, matthew, amanda and sheng ling
my KIDNAPPED maze and final stage
us behind the school kitchen. we discover some secrets we hate to discover.

matthew, me and sheng ling. im not sure when is this taken but i tink is before the OPERASI BURUNG HANTU (OWL OPERATION)

To me it is the perfect prefect camp cos i had a lot of fun. :)

Memory No. 4: i never thought i will ever experience this experience but i did, in school! one of the most fun but yet 'supposingly' a dangerous experience.

Memory No. 6: PA Boy

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

Being a prefect is definitely a drag and I never like it one bit eversince I passed probation (apparently probation is the fun part I find during prefect duties). It was such hardwork, time consuming and definitely boring in more ways than one.

However, my blog entry is not to stress on why I don’t like being a prefect. My memory no. 6 is being the PUBLIC ADDRESS (PA) COMMITTEE for the prefects of year 2008/2009. I owed it all to my year of bods for they are the one who gave us (me and Amanda) the post (specifically, Joanna). We are sort of the first official prefects to hold that post. So it was quite an honor. We are still not in the bods (like how me and Amanda wanted to), but we were still part of it in some ways.

But being elected is not only the fun part. As much as I hated doing PA, I kinda missed it after I retired. Is like a part of me is missing, Amanda felt the same too. PA is not as easy as what most prefects thinks. The setting it up was easy (if you have a screwdriver) but it was the managing. Why is it such a drag?

1) We always need to be prepare for any disturbance like when the sounds or music goes haywire.

2) Carrying the box of the machines are very heavy although it seems lighter as I carried it more often

3) I have to attend every events when they need the sound machine. I cut a lot of my studies period and have to attend all school activities. On year 2008, the teachers even wanted us to set up the PA every morning (before 8am) for the SPM examination (which I’m not even a part of and it was the big school holiday, like summer holiday)

4) Being blamed for any faulties during assembly. Is not like is our fault the machines and wires are old. Unless someone buys a new one, there is nothing else we can do. (I remembered Joanna even raised her voice on the machine. I can still remember her words, “I’m so sick of this assembly d lash. Just slap that stupid PA lah!)

5) Training trainees are not easy. We still have to be on our toes even after our retirement.

But then again, I missed PA session. How can I not? Like I said is a part of me and being the first prefect to be officially in charge of it, is a big honor.

P.S: before I forget, eng khim also helped us out a lot even though he was not one of the committee.

amanda and me. the PA committee.

Memory No. 7: Haircut and Haunted House

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

Family day is definately memorable. the first year of my family day was motivated by my class teacher pn sulo who is VERY determined to win. all sorts of idea came out and among the best was zarul's hair salon idea. that idea is probably the main reason we won the title MOST COLLECTED FUND and BEST TEAMWORK. i played my part mostly in the food stall. i spent almost my entire time there. i tink pn sulo felt pity for me cos she tried to ask afiq to exchange places with me after working for so long. i went off and came bak in 20 min time i think. i dnt like crowded place and that is why i prefered to help out in the stall. i even get free food; fried chicken, tomato rice and pasta. i did bought a few things with my own coupon on my class' stall. i remembered buying 2 piece of hanisah's hershey brownies. it was very nice. i even remembered hanisah telling me got 1 boy which she think is cute likes her brownies.

random pics. i was selling some drinks during that time.

me and wei lian. i was wearing sunglasses cos i hav eye infection that time that make my eyes super red (another memorable reason) like a blood thirsty vampire

.
Me and wan jun (see closely and you can see my red eyes)

The 2nd time was even more memorable. I played a bigger part on the family day during my form 5 year (equivalent to grade 11) whom my class teacher in pn sulo. The class’ main organizer is yao chern. He put me incharge of planning the haunted house. My idea was opposed at first but after giving my ideas (with motivation from matthew, ryan and she
ng), my classmates accepted it. It also helps that pn subbu think blindfolding them is a great idea. During the day, haunted house was pretty good at first but due to some problem we had to end early. But still, our haunted house got words around and we beat 3 other fun houses when we won 3RD MOST COLLECTED FUNDS. Guess who was first, pn sulo’s class, 5 Sigma. Still, 3rd is good.

Memory No. 8: Make a Treasure

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

Among my 6 favourite memories is being part of the treasure hunt 2009 committee. is my first official treasure hunt organized by me, n some of my friends of course (ryan and sheng ling).

i love organizing and being given this chance is a big honour. although is not exactly something big but still I'm proud to say i organized the treasure hunt and i enjoyed doing it. now that i am out of school, i guessed it is safe to say the teachers are pretty bad at organising. they r not as systematic or dependable as predicted. example, they offered to photostats the clue and we will cut on the day of the race before the race. well, they didnt. luckily, me and my 2 other friends were alert enough to predict the teachers' steps that we photostats and cut our own. there were a few more bad irresponsible things going on among the teachers but lets jus skip that part. i don nid to put that in my memories.

my biggest part in the treasure hunt in coming out with the idea of a task called NOTICE THIS NOTICE THAT. is a task where one member from each team are allowed to scout the rows of notice board at any time rate. once they tink they are ready they will complete a sets of questions made by us. im also in charge of the PAINT THE POTS station. my job is to be the host of the task and collect the paints from the science lab. is supposed to b paint the pots but becos there were no pots available (i tink u sort of know why from the paragraph above), the task changed to PAINT THE BRICKS. 2 member from each team paint a half a circle of bricks. it was a mess and i meant it more ways than just the paint flying here and there.

some of the teams were out of control in order to beat time. one team even attempt to pour the entire bucket of paints on to the bricks. luckily i was fast enough to notice and manage to stopped them. becos there were only 2 bucket of paint, when one runs out, i had to run from one corner to another to supply paint from the last bucket of paint. and let me tell u, the paint was pretty heavy for it is still full. some teams even painted the grass and i dnt know why they did that while others knock over plants. after they were all of, i have to repaint the unfinished ones or the messy ones cos the property belongs to the school.

ryan and sheng also did a big part in their own ways. examples are that ryan and sheng find paint brushes and had to wash them with thinner and i admit is not that easy to do so. ryan did the CRAWL TO VICTORY challenge while sheng did the NOTICE THIS NOTICE THAT (not an easy task to handle) . sheng oso came with the idea CRAWL TO VICTORY and DONALD DUCK DANCE task. ryan did most of the teachers talking stuff and he had to do some of the last minute check up with other stationmaster DURING the hunt. i tink one of their hardest task was to find pn. ong to get the paint brushes if im not mistaken.

however, overall, im glad i took part in it. if i had joined instead i might not get any position at all. but being the organizer, i tink is way more challenging than racing the hunt itself and it is much more satisfying to say IM THE ORGANIZER OF THE TREASURE HUNT 2009. i got few bucks for it. not alot, i tink rm50 (forget d) for helping although we were told we will get more. but to me is more than the money when i agreed to organized this race.

us (organizer) after the treasure hunt (we were painting the bricks to hide up the mess). notice my pants (on the far right) is filled with splotches of pink paints? apparently jeremy yee thinks is cool. im not sure is he being sarcastic or is he telling the truth (he looked like telling the truth but he himself is a sarcastic guy)

So far i got no viewers yet. oh well, what the heck. anyways, number 9 is specially for the day me and my form 3 (equivalent to grade 9) classmates (the 3 gamma), went on a class high tea in sunway pyramid. during that day, we were actually celebrating 3 special events:

1) for winning the best teamwork and most money collected during the school's family day.

2) as a goodbye party to wan jun who will be going to canada

3) and jus simply a cleberation to boost th 3 gammarians spirit in us.

i miss 3 gamma so much. recently there had been a 3 gamma gathering and im sad to say i didnt attend. some family thing came up last minute and needed me in service.

Memory No. 10: The Last Paper

:: Posted by - blogbyyongming :: Category -

It seems like just not long ago that i wished high school would just zoom by and il be in college the very next day. now it seems like time zooms to fast eventhough it took 1826 days to complete it. so anyways, im making my next 10 post a tribute to the best 10 memories ive have ever had in my 5 years of high schooling life.

first of in number 10 would be non other than the day of the big exam, SPM (sijil peperiksaan malaysia) or direct translation: Malaysian Examination Certificate. the tension of the exams still burns in me as i wait for the results.

one thing i know i can always remember about spm is my sitting position right beside the dustbin. is pretty revolting sometimes especially when the bin is wet (i dont know how it get wet). i also sat beside the door with wind keep slamming it right beside my ear. i remembered one of the examination prefect smirked at me when i kept trying to keep the door stay open during one of my exams.

my overall conclusion on the exams are:

Malay Language: the essei is pretty easy and no need of head cramming but the grammar to me is really tough. but then again, i was never good at the subject.

English Language: i tink i did fairly well in it and stood a chance in A (hopefully i do get it) but no idea about the uk marking scheme. it also helps that one of the essei so coincidently came out identical to the trials in school.

Modern Mathematics: easy peasy. not much of a worry there.

History: it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but still hard. all the while luck is by my side in history exams hopefully luck will continue be on my side.

Moral Studies: it was 'ok'. just hope i get the moral values right.

Additional Mathematics: Paper 1 is relatively easy but paper 2 is...... ugh!

Biology: quite happy with it. i know i got the facts right just hope they way i answered is acceptable by the marking schemes.

Chemistry: not bad at all. owe it all to my chemistry tuition and it helped alot that i got 4 days to prepare for that particular subject only

Physics: the calculation was quite complicating but overall it was okey. but then again, all my physics paper in other exams were always okey but i never did get a good grade for any of it.

Accounts: terrible. worst paper of all. one of the question i could have got it right but no............ i have to forget the prinsip. the most frustrating paper. hopefully is good enuf to get an A

Overall: i tink i can get straight As (have to think positive). i tink i stood a chance.
