ME AND SPORTS (BORING POST)



RYAN RECENTLY CAME OUT WITH THIS TOPIC THAT I AM LACKING IN SPORTS. FOR ONE THING I AM SURE, I AM NOT EMBARASS TO ADMIT IT. I AM FULLY AWARE THAT I AM LACKING IN SPORTS GAMES. TO BE HONEST, IS NOT THAT I DONT LIKE SPORTS. AS THE MATTER OF FACT, WHEN I WAS YOUNG, I LOVE ANY SPORTS ME SENIOR COUSINS (YIMEI AND YILIAN AT THAT TIME) BROUGHT UP TO ME. WHICH INCLUDES BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, VOLLEYBALL, FOOTBALL, BADMINTON AND PINGPONG. BUT MOST OF THE TIME I MAINLY JUS PLAY FOR FUN AS I WAS VERY YOUNG AT THAT TIME. BUT AS MY STUDIES GOT HARDER, I NEGELCTED SPORTS AND EVENTUALLY SPORTS JUST DONT LINK WITH ME ANYMORE.



I STILL LOVE SPORTS BUT I JUST CANT SEEM TO FIND THE TIME TO PRACTICE. AND EVEN IF I HAVE TIME, MY STRICT FAMILY RULES WILL NOT LET ME PARTICIPATE. THEY ARE NOT VERY SUPPORTIVE TO ME WHEN COMES TO SPORTS. HOWEVER, THEY THEMSELVES ARE A SPORT NUTS WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG. MY DAD IS LIKE A MUSCULAR GUY WHEN HE WAS YOUNG AND MY MUM IS ALWAYS CHOSEN TO GO FOR ALMOST ALL SPORTS LEAGUE COS SHE IS SUPPOSE TO BE ONE OF THE BEST (ALTHOUGH ACCORDING TO HER, SHE ALWAYS CHOOSE TO BE THE REPLACEMENT AS SOMETIMES SHE IS LAZY TO PLAY). MY OTHER ISSUES WOULD BE NO PROPER TRAINING. UNLIKE OTHERS, THEY GOT AT LEAST THEIR PARENTS TO HELP THEM, BUT THEN AGAIN, MY PARENTS CONFESS THEY ARE TOO OLD FOR SPORTS. MAYBE MY NATURE IS JUST NOT WITH THE SPORTS AS IT USUALLY TOOK ME TWICE AS HARD TO GRASP A SPORTS TECHNIQUE. I MIGHT HAVE TO BLLAME MY LOW SELF ESTEEM AS WELL. ME SMALL CONFIDENCE MIGHT PLAY A BIG ROLE IN PULLING ME AWAY FROM SPORTS.



HOWEVER, THER WAS ONE A FEW TIMES I MANAGED TO PUT MY SELF IN AN AVERAGE OR SLIGHTLY BELOW AVERAGE WHEN COMES TO CERTAIN SPORTS. BUT WHEN TIMES GOES BY, I JUST LOSE MY SKILLS. LOL. THE FIRST SPORTS I EVER LEARN IS BASEBALL. ME AND MY COUSINS PLAY IN A MINI COURT BUT SINCE THERE ARE ONLY 2 PLAYER PER TEAM WHICH MAKE IT 2 TIMES HARDER, SO IT WAS EQUAL I GUESS. BUT IT WAS LATER THAT NONE OF MY FRIENDS PLAY BASEBALL SO I STOP UNTIL NOW. IM NOT SURE CAN I EVEN STILL HIT THE BALL OR NOT.



MY INTREST THAN MOVED TO BADMINTON. MY COUSIN YILIAN SUDDENLY GOT VERY SERIOUS IN BADMINTON SO SHE CALL OUR AUNT, WHO SUPPOSE TO BE SOME SORT OF PRO, TO PRACTICE. I SORT OF JOIN THE FUN. FROM THERE I BEGIN TO PICK UP BADMINTON. THAT WAS THE TIME, SOME OF U MIGHT NOTICE THAT I CAN PLAY MODERATELY WELL IN BADMINTON DURING FORM 1 AND 2. I CAN EVEN BEAT MY AUNT BUT THERE WAS NO NET AND BORDER LINE SO NOT SURE IZIT IN OR OUT. LOL. I KNOW. BUT AT LEAST I MANAGE TO CATCH THE BALL AND HIT FAR AND HIGH AND CAN DO SOME DROPSHOT.

SOMEHOW LATER, I STOP PLAYING BADMINTON AND GO FOR TENNIS DURING MIDDLE OF FORM 2. FROM THERE, I LOSE OUT IN BADMINTON AND ALSO IN TENNIS. DURING FORM 3 I TRIED TAKING UP BASKETBALL. I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT BASKETBALL IS ONE OF THE EASIET SPORTS EVER. SADLY, I DONT HAVE A PROPER TEAM SO I SOMETIMES PLAY WITH MY COUSINS. THERE WAS TWO TIMES I WENT TO MY AREA'S BASKETBALL COURT AT NIGHT (I DONT WANT PEOPLE TO SEE MY HORRIBLE TECHNIQUE) AND TRY TO GET A FREE SCORE. IT WAS AT FIRST BUT ON THE SECOND DAY, I CAN SCORE QUITE A NUMBER. THEN ONE DAY I PLAY WITH MY COUSINS DURING THE EVENING. I AM PROIUD TO SAY I HAVE NOT MUCH OF A PROBLEM SHOOTING FROM THE THRID RING (FREE THROW ONLY) THOUGH I GOT PROBLEM WITH THE FIRST RING AS I EXERTED TO MUCH ENERGY TO THE BALL. A GROUP LATER ASK US TO JOIN THEM, WELL, I PLAY BADLY WITH LOTS OF FAULT OR FOUL HERE AND THERE BUT I STILL LOVE IT.

SINCE THEN, I DONT KNOW WHY, I NEVER PLAY BASKETBALL. I THEN MOVED TO PING PONG. I PRACTICED MYSELF WITH THE WALL, SITTING DOWN. I MANAGED TO IMPROVE MY SPEED AND MOMENTUM BUT THE FEW PROBLEMS I FACED ARE ACCURACY AND SKILL. I CANT HIT ACCURATE AND I CANT SMASH NOR SLICE THE BALL SINCE I DONT KNOW HOW. SMASH IS ACTUALLY EASY IF U USE THE NORMAL HOLDING POSITION, BUT I AM USING A DIFFRENT POSITION WHICH I AM USE TO IT. IM STILL STUCK WITH PING PONG BUT NO PRACTICE ANYMORE.

WELL, HERE IS MY STORY. SAD ISNT IT? BUT HONESTLY, I JUST WANT TO EXERT ENERGY THATS ALL. SO I TOOK UP INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITIES. FIRSTLY IS CYCLING. I STARTED TO CYCLE SINCE I WAS 10. BELIEV IT OR NOT, I NEVER FALL WHEN I FIRST STARTED HOW TO CYCLE. THAT IS BCOS I LEARNT SCOOTER FIRST WHICH IMPROVE ME BALANCE SO WHEN I SHIFTED TO BIKE, IT WAS QUITE EASY. THEN I TOOK UP JOGGING TO IMPROVE MY LACK OF SPORTS AND TO TRY OUT FOR MARATHON ONE DAY ( I KNOW I AM A BIT DREAMING). IM NOT AIMING TO WIN BUT JUST TO FEEL THE SATISFACTION OF COMPLETING THE RACE. WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO JOG, IT WAS HELL TO ME. I TOOK LIKE MORE THAN 5 STOPS IN THAT TWO ROUNDS AROUND HALF MY AREA (EQUIVALENT TO ALMOST 3/4 - ONE ROUND OF SS18). THATS WAS ONLY 2 ROUND. MARATHON IS AROUND FIVE ROUNDS. I DIDNT GO FULL ROUND MY AREA AS I HAVE TO CROSS THE OTHER HALF OF MY AREA WHICH I AM NOT FAMILIAR. BUT I LATER, SET MY GOAL TO ONLY HAVE 2 STOPS IN TWO ROUNDS. NOW, I CAN DO 3 ROUNDS WITH 3 STOPS. FIRST ROUND NO STOPS, 2ND ROUND 2 STOPS AND THRID ROUND 1 STOP.

LAST YEAR I JUS LEARN HOW TO SWIM. MY DAD SUPPORTED ME ON THIS ONE AS IS AN IMPORTANT LIFE SKILL TO HIM. IT WAS HARD TO ME BUT NOW I CAN TO BREASTSTROKE (FROG STYLE), THOUGH MY DAD THING IS SLIGHTLY WRONG BUT I THINK HE JUST WANT TO BE SIMON COWELL. MY SIS TOOK SWIMMING LESSON LAST YEAR AND CAN DO A PERFECT BREASTSTROKE (ACCORDING TO MY DAD). BUT ONE DAY, WHEN WE RACED, I BEAT MY SIS. QUITE PROUD, LOL. I ALSO LEARN HOW TO SLEEP AND SWIM SLEEPING ON WATER AND FROM THERE I SORT OF INVENTED THE JELLYFISH STYLE. IS JUS A STUPID THING TO ENTERTAIN MYSELF. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO LEARN FREESTYLE MYSELF. I MANAGE TO FLOAT WITH THE STYLE BUT I OCCUR A BREATHING DIFFICULTY. I WANTED TO GO SWIM AT LEAST ONE A WEEK, BUT THEN MY PARENTS AND MY PACKED SCHEDULE JUST PREVENT US TO GO TO 3K. MY LAST STEP INTO MAKING MYSELF EQUAL TO HAVING A HEALTHY PHYSICAL LIFE IS NIGHT EXERCISE. NOW I SELDOM DO CAUSE LAZYA ND SLEEPY. BEFORE BED, I WOULD DO PUMPING AND SIT UP AND CHIN UP (RECENTLY STARTED). NOW I CAN DO ABOUT 25 PUSH UPS, 30 SITS UPS AND DEPENDABLE CHIN UP (MOSTLY ONE OR TWO).

SO THATS MY ONLY WAY OF TRYING TO STAY IN SHAPE AND AVOID BEING FAT. I FOUND THIS ADVICE SOMEHWERE FROM THE INTERNET (I WAS DESPERATE). AT THE AGE OF 12 I WAS BEGINNING TO FIND MYSELF A SPORTS NERD SO I DECIDED TO CHANGE. SO THIS IS ALL I GOT SO FAR. I TOOK UP TAEKWONDO BEFORE THOUGH. I SORT OF QUIT WHEN I FAIL (I THINK I FAIL, I DIDNT GET MY RESULTS AS I DONT DARE, I DID VERY BADLY) TO GET THE BLACK BELT. I PLAN TO CONTINUE NEXT YEAR SINCE I MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE TO BE AJK FORM 5, AFIQ IS KETUA AJK AND HE WANT ELECT ME AS AJK FORM 5. TAEKWONDO HELP ME ALOT AND I GOT FULL SUPPORT FROM MY PARENTS. I BEGIN TO GROW FAST FROM THERE (BETWEEN AGE 12 AND 13).

MOST OF YOU MIGHT THING I AM QUITE EMOTIONAL ABOUT THIS POST, BUT WELL, IM NOT. I AM A SELF ADMIT A SPORT-LOSER AND (NOT PROUD) HAPPY THE WAY I AM. TOLD U IS A BORING POST. ITS LIKE MY PRIVATE JOURNAL.
